Recommendations from Cinergy Health to Combat Swine Flu
January 5, 2010
Everyone wants advice about how to deal with swine flu – and how to prevent it before it even occurs. Daniel Touizer, CEO of Cinergy Health explains that “Swine Flu is the number one consumer health concern this year and many people don’t know where to turn for help.” As he says, “Cinergy Health created this guide so Americans know how to protect themselves against this pandemic.”
The Medical Director of Cinergy Health, Dr. Margaret Lewin, offers the following suggestions.
- Get your vaccines! You can get both the seasonal flu vaccine and H1N1 at the same time.
- When you cough or sneeze, do so either into a tissue or into the crooks of your arm. This will help to prevent germs from spreading.
- Wash your hands as often as possible with soap and water or with hand sanitizer that has at least 60% ethyl alcohol in it. Wash at least 20 seconds before each meal.
- If you begin to have flu-like symptoms, stay home from work! Even though it may be difficult for you to miss the time from work, you’ll be keeping others aware from the flu and may help your body to recover faster.
- Don’t return to work until you’ve been fever-free for at least 24 hours. You are the most contagious, according to Dr. Lewin, while you have a fever.
Use these important tips from Cinergy Health to have a healthy winter that is flu-free!

November 19, 2009
At Cinergy Health we believe that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” That is why Daniel Touizer, CEO of Cinergy Health had a statement issued to the public containing guidelines on how individuals can protect themselves from the dangers of contracting swine flu this year.
So far over 4,000 Americans have died from this latest pandemic, and thousands more have lost hours at work or school recovering from this nasty flu, not to mention the suffering being sick entails.
Very briefly, here is a list of the five steps you can take to prevent getting the H1N1 and/or other flus this winter, and what to do if you should be unlucky enough to get sick along with the thousands of other people who have or will get the flu this winter.
1. Get the vaccine against H1N1 and/or other seasonal flu viruses.
2. Don’t touch your face with your hands.
3. Wash your hands frequently and take extra care to wash carefully before eating.
4. Stay home if you get sick, and call your doctor.
5. Cover your mouth when you cough.
6. Stay home until you are better and you have no fever for at least 24 hours.
Cinergy Health, along with CEO Daniel Touizer and medical director Margaret Lewin wish you a healthy, happy winter.
Daniel Touizer’s Swine Flu Prevention Guide
November 12, 2009
Everybody is talking about swine flu, but many people don’t seem to know what to do about it. According to Daniel Touizer, the CEO of Cinergy Health,
“Swine Flu is the number one consumer health concern this year and many people don’t know where to turn for help.”
In order to inform people about the H1N1 virus, which is already responsible for the deaths of over 4,000 Americans, Cinergy Health produced a useful guide with simple but effective suggestions on how to protect yourself and your family from the illness.
As Daniel Touizer explained it:
“Cinergy Health created this guide so Americans will know how to protect themselves against this pandemic.”
1. Get vaccinated. As soon as the H1N1 vaccine is available in your community, run and get immunized. You should also get the vaccine against the seasonal flu virus, which can be taken at the same time. The vaccines are safe and effective ways to protect yourself and others from contracting the flu.
2. Wash your hands frequently and refrain from touching your face with your hands. Use soap and water or a hand sanitizer which is at least 60% ethyl alcohol. Take special care before eating to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds.
3. Call your doctor immediately upon feeling flu-like symptoms, and stay home from work or school.
4. Make sure to cover your mouth when you cough. Use a handkerchief, tissue, or the crook of your arm to keep the germs from flying into the air, one of the main ways to spread the flu.
5. When you are feeling better, do not return to work or school until you have been fever free for at least 24 hours. Cinergy Health hopes that together we can check the spread of swine flu and other seasonal illnesses and stay healthy and productive.
